What does the new XM channel lineup announcement mean?

XM subscribers have a new lineup with 170 channels of the premier music, sports, news, and entertainment from both XM and SIRIUS. Along with your favorites, we mixed in new channels and shows, new personalities, legendary DJs and celebrity hosts, to give you more of everything you love about Satellite Radio.  Click here for the new lineup: www.xmradio.com/newlineup.


Why did you change the XM channel lineup?

XM’s lineup is constantly evolving to bring you the best in entertainment. The recent merger between XM and SIRIUS has allowed us to give our subscribers better choices in music, news, sports, talk and entertainment, including Bruce Springsteen’s E Street Radio, Radio Margaritaville, Elvis Radio, the Grateful Dead Channel, NBA play-by-play, and more. When is the new XM lineup available for listeners? 

The new lineup went live on 11/12/08.

How many new channels are in the new XM lineup? 

We have added several new channels to the XM lineup.  In addition, we have added dozens of new shows and on-air personalities to our existing channels.  For more information, please visit  www.xmradio.com/newlineup.


Did you reduce the total number of channels on the XM lineup?

No, we still have more than 170 channels, including 69 commercial free music channels.


Are there new shows or just new channels in the new XM lineup? 

We have added dozens of new shows and on-air personalities to many channels in our lineup.  For more information, please visit www.xmradio.com/newlineup.


Will I pay more for this new lineup? 

No. This new programming lineup will not come at an additional cost to our subscribers.


Can I receive all of these channels on my current XM radio?

YES, All of the new channels will be available on your existing radio; there’s no need to do a thing.  Since some of our existing channels have changed names or moved locations, we recommend you download and PRINT our new channel lineup at www.xmradio.com/newlineup.


Do I need to do anything to my radio to receive these new channels? All you need to do is turn your radio on…and enjoy.  If any of your favorite channels have new channel numbers, your radio presets will automatically redirect to the new channel number. If you don’t have your favorites preset, please download our new channel lineup www.xmradio.com/newlineup to find the new channel number.

Can I listen to the new channels online with XM Radio online? 

All of the new music channels are available for you to listen to online, if you have the XM Everything or XM Everything PLUS the Best of SIRIUS (for information on the Best of SIRIUS, please click here.)

Did any XM channels go away? 

There are a few channels that have been retired, but many of the shows on those channels have new homes on the dial. Go to www.xmradio.com/newlineup for details on all of our new and enhanced channels and where you can find your favorite shows.


Is there a place to go to find out more information about each channel? 

Yes, you can go to www.xmradio.com/newlineup to learn about all the additions and changes with the new lineup. You can also go to the individual channel pages to get more information about their specific on-air personalities, play-lists and shows. 


Where can I find more information on the new shows?

We have added dozens of new shows, on-air personalities, and more. our electronic programming guide http://www.xmradio.com/onxm is a great resource to explore all of our channels and shows.


Why does my favorite channel all of a sudden have a new name?

Some of our channel names have changed, but you’ll still find the same great content you enjoyed before. We encourage you to explore all of our new channels and shows and hope you find some new favorites, too! What happened to my favorite XM channel? It’s no longer available on my radio and I don’t see it in the channel lineup guide?


It’s possible that it may have moved on the lineup or that it has a new name.  If it is no longer available, please look at our tool on www.xmradio.com/newlineup that will help you find a channel that plays similar content. Or you can use our artist search tool at http://www.xmradio.com/search/artistsearch.xmc


Are there any other tools I can use to find where my favorite music or shows are played?

Yes, besides the channel pages, we recommend using our artist search tool http://www.xmradio.com/search/artistsearch.xmc. Just enter the name of your favorite artist or talk personality, and you’ll get a complete list of the channel(s) where they can be found.


Where do I find shows like Bob Dylan, Tom Petty, Marty Stuart and Bill Anderson?

XMX, Channel 2, has been retired, however we have moved these popular shows to other channels: Bob Dylan’s Theme-Time Radio Hour and Tom Petty’s Buried Treasure are now on XM 40, Deep Tracks; Bill Anderson's Visits with the Legends is now on Roadhouse, XM 10; and Marty Stuart's American Odyssey can now be heard on Outlaw Country , XM 12.


Is the Led Zepplin channel back for good?

Led Zepplin Radio is a temporary channel that we brought back as a result of subscriber feedback. Led Zepplin Radio will be on XM 39 until December 31st.  To find Led Zepplin after December 31st check out Classic Vinyl on 46, Deep Tracks on XM 40, and Classic Rewind on XM 49.


What happens when the AC/DC channel ends?

The AC/DC channel will live on XM 53 until January 15th, when Boneyard returns to 53 on the dial.


Where can I find punk music now? 

Punk music can be heard on Faction (XM 52), Our exclusive channel that features shows like Marky Ramone's Punk Rock Blitzkrieg and Cosmic Commander's Sonic Reduction.


Will you have holiday programming again in November/December?

If I have The Best of SIRIUS already, will these channel numbers change?

Yes, some of the channel numbers did change. Martha Stewart is now on XM 157, 24/7 NFL Talk is now on XM 124, NFL play-by-play is now on XM 102 to XM 114, and NASCAR® is now on XM 128.  If you have these channels in your radio pre-sets, the channel will automatically redirect to its new location.  If you do not have these pre-set, please download our new channel lineup www.xmradio.com/newlineup to locate the new channel numbers for your Best of SIRIUS channels.
